TOPIC :The Widow Of Zarephath.
TEXT : 1 Kings 17 : 8-16.
MEMORY VERSE : Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he (Elijah) arose and went to Zarephath .And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me,I pray thee , a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.1 Kings 17:9-10.

In the course of studying the book of I Kings 17 :8-16, I asked myself so many rhetorical questions, especially why God has to send His servant to be fed by a widow with a son. " Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee" 1 Kings 17:9.
1:Why was Elijah not sent to the house of the richest-man in the city ?
2:Why a widow with one child dying of hunger left with just " an harmful of meal in a barrel and a little oil a cruse " 1King 17:12 ?

The reasons to the aforementioned questions are not far fetched
1: God was ready to answer the prayer of the widow of Zarephath.
2:God was ready to examine the ingenuity of her love for Him.
3:God was to visit a family and He chose the family of a widow.
4: God was ready to Test her obedient and commitment to Him.

In another word, when God is read to change the situation of a man or woman,He will collect what is in your hand and give you what you don`t have.
The widow hard a little flour and fainting oil in her cruse, she gave it in other to attract the heavenly blessing.
Let us give what is in our folded hands in other to get what we don`t have.Give out your life to Him and He will give you eternity.
Give Him your money He will open heaven over your situation.
