Mayowa loses cancer battle in South Africa
•The late Mayowa on hospital bed
Twenty-nine-year-old Mayowa Ahmed yesterday died in a South African hospital about 10 days after her admission.
The late Mayowa left Nigeria on August 11 to treat Stage IV Ovarian cancer after her family was cleared of fundraising scam allegations by the police.
When contacted, her elder sister, Mrs Tope Adeniran, told our reporter on phone that Mayowa died early yesterday.
She expressed sadness that her sister died despite all the efforts to save her through the Whatsapp Social messaging platform.
Mrs Adeniran, in tears, said: “I could not talk or text that was why I did not inform you. This is not fair; after everything.”
She said the family had hopes that the late Mayowa would survive as she was said to be responding to treatment.
“I really don’t know what went wrong. But she was a bit better yesterday (Saturday),” she said.
A family friend, Saheed Badmus, said Mayowa’s death came as a shock because initial report was that she was responding to treatment.
“Tope called me this (yesterday) morning; she was crying. She told me Mayowa was dead. Yesterday (Saturday), we heard she was responding to treatment only for her to die today (Sunday). She was in South Africa with her eldest brother,” he said.
The late Mayowa’s brother tweeted news of her death on the social media yesterday. Using his Twitter handle, @Asiwaju_Foye, he posted two tweets: “After a tough battle with Ovarian Cancer, Mayowa Ahmed of #SaveMayowa campaign has passed on; and “She tried, we tried but God’s will prevailed #RipMayowa”.
Last week, the late Mayowa’s family released a statement, thanking Nigerians for raising funds (about N32 million – apart from the $100,000 raised online via gofundme) for her treatment abroad.
This followed the police exoneration of the family of allegations of raising the funds without plans to treat her abroad. The allegations were raised by Nollywood actress Toyin Aimakhu, Aramide Kasamu of Life Stake Foundation and a blogger, Linda Ikeji. The police cleared all parties of wrongdoing and attributed the allegations to miscommunication.
The family had considered hospitals in the U.S., India and United Arab Emirates but settled for South Africa when other plans failed.
The family sought treatment abroad after finding it difficult to get accurate diagnosis about the late Mayowa’s ailment. The situation was compounded by her sickle cell anaemia, which made the hospitals to attribute her symptoms to Sickle cell crisis most of last year.
She was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in June before the family started making moves to take her abroad.

Church deacon, two others murdered over land dispute in Lagos
The assassination was reportedly as a result of a land brawl which had lingered for quite some time.
The said piece of land islocated at Isiwo Road, Igbodu area of Ikorodu.
The deceased, a Deacon identified only as Hassan, his driver and Personal Assistant, PA, met their untimely death at about 6pm.
A friend to the late deacon’s family, who didn’t want her name mentioned in print, disclosed this on her Facebook page.
According to her, “It’s a very painful exit in the family of my friend, Olaitan Temitope, as assassins eliminated one of his brother, Deacon Hassan, his P.A and his driver yesterday at Isiwo Road, Igbodu, based on land dispute.
“May God in his mercy protect and guide us from evil doers.
R.I.P,” she added.
It was learnt that the deceased’s family had issues with some people over the piece of land and after several warnings and threat messages, he was killed while he had gone to inspect the land alongside his driver and assistant.
As at press time, the police say it is yet to receive a complaint on this particular case.

The struggle you`re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.When the book of remembrance was closed against Mephibosheth his life was not better than a dead dog. "And he bowed himself, and said, what is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am " 2 Samuel 9:8.
When the book of remembrance is closed, much labour is compensated with with little gain.Of course, the good path of such fellow is forgotten, his or her error is always noticed.The worse part of it is every step he takes is condemned.When others are rewarded he received letter of query and probably suspension.Why ? His book of remembrance are permanently closed like a "dead dog - Mephibosheth ".Toady, I degree in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus, your book of remembrance will be opened in Jesus` name.
As soon as book of remembrance was opened in favour of Mephibosheth, "a dead dog" became the world celebrity.
His name changed from Lamed Mephibosheth to "Prince"
Don`t you know that the son of a President is also a President,Mephibosheth ruled like King in the palace, visitors and community people refers to him as his excellence.Imagine, a lame of yesterday now "his excellence".What a great God !

Security was attached to Mephibosheth. Meaning that he never walked alone ":......And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth." 2 Samuel 9:12.
You don`t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Mephibosheth never gave up ! Because when the world says give up ! Hope whispers and says "Mephibosheth try it one more time".Today, your own book of remembrance will be opened for your favour in Jesus` name.
Cry to God who alone can make impossible to be possible ( Luke1:37) . By His single power, He construted bridge on the sea.He wiped away the tears of Hannanh.He remembered Mephibosheth and change his life " through the power of the book of remebrance ". Now is your time if only you can reconcile with the God who turns " a dead dog" to a " Prince" in the palace and change his possition from shrub dweller to Jerusalem VIP occupant,by accept Jesus as your Lord and your saviour, your book will be opened.
PRAYER POINT :Through the opening of the book of remembrance,Mephibosheth was remembered.Oh lord my God let my book of remembrance be widely opened for my favour today in Jesus` name.Amen.

Crying is not a sign of weakness, but it is a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.And the Lord said unto everyone who has been waiting for his/her book of remembrance to be opened.It does not matter years you have been waiting, days of your fasting,hours of your prayer and the Lord said now that your book of remembrance are opened . You will say to all your critics and enemies who reduced you to a "dead dog", who once said you can never celebrate " The Lord has done great things for us (me), whereof we are glad" Psalm 126:3.
You have sew in tears in the last six month,but God said unto you " They that sow in tears shall reap in Joy" Psalm 126:5. Beloved, wipe away you tear this is your month of remembrance. The Lord will decorate you with Joy unspeakable, not that alone all your critics and foes will see God in your life. And you will say " The Lord hath done great things for (me) us; whereof (I) we are glad" Psalm 126:3.
Now that your book of remembrance is opened , you shall begin to reap where you have not sew and the Lord said unto Ziba from today " Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him (Mephibosheth) thy master`s son shall eat bread always at my table.Now Ziba had fifteen (15) sons and twenty (20) servants " 2 Samuel 9:10.
I prophecy to your life this day first of July 2016, In the mighty name of Jesus ;Your book of remembrance is opened.The Lord shall reward your forgotten efforts.You shall be decorated. The Lord shall give you a new name in the name of JESUS !
Now, is the time of salvation next second might be too late, repeat after me. Oh Lord my God , I surrender my life to you, forgive me all my sins and write my name in the book of life. Give me grace to serve you for the rest of my life.
PRAYER POINT : In the mighty name of Jesus, my book of remembrance that is opened will never be closed in Jesus` name.Amen.

Of recent I was reading about great Martin Luther KG(Jr), and I fell in love with one of his quote " The ultimate measure of man (woman) is not where he stands in moments of comfort and conveniences,but where he stands at a time of challenge and controversy" emphasis mine.
Not only that envy is awful, it is also dire.Not only that God strictly warned His children to stay clear from envy it is a short way to destruction.An envious wife will never be satisfied.She will never admired God`s grace over her life.Her husband is mostly compared with others.

God places envy ahead of wrath,and anger even though the duo are outrageous.In Proverb 27:4, the scripture says " Wrath is cruel,and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
It better to leave with witch than to accommodate an envious woman or man.Why? Horse and donkey can be tamed but LION and SNAKE can not be controlled.An envious woman or man is more dire than the latter.They are pretendant. An envious person is cruel and awful.
ANTIDOLE TO ENVY
Don`t envy the blessings others appear to have because you don`t know their strife and the grass isn`t always greener on the other side.
Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.
The Envious man or woman grows lean at the success of his neighbor.
The most unhappy people are the ones who always undervalue what they have, and overvalue what others have.

Pregnancy is typically broken into three periods, or trimesters, each of about three months. Each trimester is defined as 14 weeks, for a total duration of 42 weeks, although the average duration of pregnancy is 40 weeks.
THE THREE TRIMESTERS
Pregnancy has three trimesters, each of which is marked by specific fetal developments. A pregnancy is considered full-term at 40 weeks; infants delivered before the end of week 37 are considered premature. Premature infants may have problems with their growth and development, as well as difficulties in breathing and digesting.
First Trimester (0 to 13 Weeks)
The first trimester is the most crucial to your baby's development. During this period, your baby's body structure and organ systems develop. Most miscarriages and birth defects occur during this period.During this stage the Lord in His faithfulness keeps His eye on the baby considering its flimsiness as it is written in Isaiah 54:17 " No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper....."
Body also undergoes major changes during the first trimester. These changes often cause a variety of symptoms, including nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness and frequent urination. Although these are common pregnancy symptoms, every woman has a different experience. For example, while some may experience an increased energy level during this period, others may feel very tired and emotional.AT this stage strenght is made available by God.According to Exodus 1:20 " And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women;for they are lively,and are delievered ere the midwives come in unto them"

In the course of studying the book of I Kings 17 :8-16, I asked myself so many rhetorical questions, especially why God has to send His servant to be fed by a widow with a son. " Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee" 1 Kings 17:9.
1:Why was Elijah not sent to the house of the richest-man in the city ?
2:Why a widow with one child dying of hunger left with just " an harmful of meal in a barrel and a little oil a cruse " 1King 17:12 ?

The reasons to the aforementioned questions are not far fetched
1: God was ready to answer the prayer of the widow of Zarephath.
2:God was ready to examine the ingenuity of her love for Him.
3:God was to visit a family and He chose the family of a widow.
4: God was ready to Test her obedient and commitment to Him.

In another word, when God is read to change the situation of a man or woman,He will collect what is in your hand and give you what you don`t have.
The widow hard a little flour and fainting oil in her cruse, she gave it in other to attract the heavenly blessing.
Let us give what is in our folded hands in other to get what we don`t have.Give out your life to Him and He will give you eternity.
Give Him your money He will open heaven over your situation.

After Naboth was assassinated, the word of the LORD came through His Prophect - Elijah saying "And I will make thine house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Isreal to sin.And of Jezebel also spake the LORD ,saying,The dogs shall eat dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat" 1 Kings 21 : 22 - 23.
AHAB IS A GOD FEARING KING BUT MARRIED CROCODILE
Shortly after the saying of the Prophet to the Ahab and his wife (Jezebel ), Ahab cried unto God for mercy,and he rent his cloth.1 Kings 21:27 " And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth,and went softly".
Indeed the Lord had mercy on Ahab and forgave his sins. "And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me ?because he humbleth himself before me,I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son`s days will I bring the evil upon his house" 1King 21:28-29.
THE END OF JEZEBEL

THE DEATH OF JEZEBEL
1 Kings 9:37 says " And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel;so that they shall not say , This is Jezebel" Notorious and heartless first lady of Ahab died without recognition.This is disastrous!

There is always something moving, brewing.The are ambitious people everywhere.Wicked people.The only thing to do is to deal with them with courage and decision through the word of God.One must beware of uncertainty,weakness or conflicting emotions - they lead to defeat.
JEZEBEL
In 1 Kings 18:4, Jezebel seized the office of the first lady to afflict and kill all the prophets of God...Thank God for the God fearing Governor who hid some under the cave.You will not forget in an hurry how Jezebel single highhandedly supervised the killing of an Orphan because of his vineyard.This is gruesome. Yet God was watching and waiting.Watching and waiting for what ?

STRANGE! Pastor found dead less than two years after entire family was wiped out by mystery midnight FIRE
EVERYTHING came like a thunderbolt. Everyone is discussing the fate of a Warri-based pastor and could hardly make any logical meaning out of it all.
First it was his family – wife and four children – who was wiped out by a mysterious midnight inferno while the pastor was away. Less than two years after, June 26, 2016 to be precise, the man himself, Pastor John Kayoda of the Love District of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ekakpamre, Ughelli South council area of the state, was found dead on his bed with a running generator in the passage and fume everywhere.
Neighbours and relatives, who relayed how the clergy man lived his last few hours, said not much was known about the cause of his death, other than the fact that he turned on a power generator, placed it in the passage way to his residence, slept off and went to glory therefrom. This explanation, in itself, has been described as mysterious because it came in almost the same manner the disaster that took his family came; the inferno was believed to have been sparked by an electrical malfunctioning.
According to sources, Pastor Kayoda, who recently got transferred to the Ekakpamre Circuit of the church, had summoned members of his new church to a massive combined service the morning of the day he was to meet his Maker. Kayoda, just four days in the new parish, had told his parishioners to all come around the next morning, being Monday, for a morning devotion he was going to lead. Like the good sheep that many of the members of the church are, several members had trouped to the church to be part of the devotion.
“The members came en masse, singing and dancing, but they became curious when they saw his car, but their new pastor was nowhere in sight to lead them in the devotion. When they waited for a long time, they started asking, ‘where is our district superintendent?’ They then went to the vicarage, where they heard the sound of the generator from inside the house. That was between 6:30am and 7:00am,” the Chairman of the Warri District of CAC, Pastor Emmanuel Orode, narrated.
He added: “They first forced the window open and saw their pastor lying inside. They discovered that the generator was still on in the corridor; that was not the normal place a generator ought to have been, there was no exit for the fume. When they entered the house, they perceived fume everywhere in the house. And it is believed that, that was what suffocated him to death.
“If they had observed that there was still life, may be they would have managed to save him because they made attempt to rush him to a nearby hospital, but they discovered that he was not breathing any longer. The members who were on ground immediately alerted the Ekakpamre Police Station of the development, before I was called upon.”
The unfortunate incident has continued to evoke questions and suspicion, with so many assuming that there must be some spiritual or conspiratorial involvement in the way the pastor and his family died. Questions begging for answers include: Why did the mystery midnight that wiped out his entire family happen while he was away? Why will a man of his experience put a generator in a passage where there is no cross ventilation? Why did he call the morning devotion early that day? Questions! Questions! Questions!
FLASHBACK TO SEPTEMBER 2014:
It was in the early hours of Thursday, September 25, 2014 and the entire family, with the exception of their father, Pastor Kayoda, who had the previous day travelled to Ikeji-Arakeji in Osun State, attending a pastors’ conference, were supposed to be sleeping, resting from the previous day’s stress. But alas, the night was corrupted by death.
A fire, which was suspected to have been sparked by an electrical fault or power surge, as power supply was said to have been problematic on the night, consumed the entire family – mother and four children – left behind by Pastor Kayoda. The fire started at about midnight, according to the first set of eyewitnesses who could give an idea of what went wrong. One of them said they got to the scene at about midnight to 12:30am.
Describing the last moments of the deceased family members, one of the earliest rescuers at the scene of the midnight fire incident, Bright December, said the situation was quite helpless. The five members of the family: the 45-yearmother, Mrs Grace Emuoboghwo Kayoda; the four children: 13-year-old first son, Igbunuoghene Enoch Kayoda; 11- year-old Oghenemaro Jesu-Ovieme Kayoda, a girl; 10-year-old Oghenewona Nehemaih Kayoda and seven-year-old baby girl of the house, Oghenekpe Kenbe Kayoda, were all trapped in the house. They were barred with iron bars, wooden doors and louvred windows, which prevented help from reaching them from the frantic rescuers outside.
According to December, a visitor to one of the houses sharing fences with the church, he was one of the first few people to arrive the disaster scene. He said that the fire had already taken over the Mission House and was about leaping unto the church’s main building. He got there at about midnight and at that time, he still met two of the five persons alive: the mother and the last girl, fighting to escape from the scary fire monster.
He saw Mrs Kayoda and Kenbe, who were on the door and the window sides respectively, calling out for help, shouting and grappling at every other thing within reach to escape the horrifying fire. While the mother and the last-born were fighting for their lives, at least the part of it opened to the other three children were not in sight. According to him, they were believed to have by now lost their own fight because “their bodies were found where they slept for the night”.
“It took about one hour before fire fighters could be alerted because it was midnight and we were all shouting and trying to see how to rescue them. It took another one hour before the fire fighters came. By this time, the woman and the little girl had lost the battle. The little girl was found dead close to the window; she was just there banging, but there was no way we could help. The windows and the doors were all guarded with protectors. It was difficult to go through, if not, we would have broken through to rescue them”, December narrated.
By the time the fire was put out, only the charred bodies and burnt house effects were left. The fire service men had tried their best to put the fire out, but their best was not enough to save even one of the lives in the house. The disaster was documented with the police and the corpses were deposited at the morgue of the Warri Central Hospital.
Now, less than two years after, the pastor himself died of what was suspected to be a generator fume. Was it a coincidence? Or was there a spiritual angle to the whole saga? Do the relations suspect any foul play?
Speaking to The Nation in Warri during the week, an aunt of the deceased Pastor, Mrs Faith Ederi, said he would not be buried like one who had no loved ones. She said the family was going to give him a befitting burial. She said although the circumstances of his life and death, relating to how he lost his family and his eventual death all within a period less than two years were unsettling, God definitely has the final say in the whole story. Not writing off the possibility of a spiritual manipulation, she said whoever might be involved definitely has God to contend with.
“We thought we had even marched on, not knowing we were still back. Losing him is a great tragedy to our family. The two families – the Okike and the Kayoda, are missing him and we will miss him forever. We just pray God to grant him eternal rest. It is a very big problem. We want to give him a befitting burial, we don’t just want to drop him in the grave and leave him like that. I will get back to you to let you know when we are burying him. Even if we suspect anything, we are just human beings, God has the final say. If there’s any plot indeed, those behind it will still meet their Waterloo, they will still reap the fruits of their wicked fruits. That’s all I can say”, she said.
Also speaking on how the unfortunate incident had hit the church, Pastor Orode said it was a blow, adding that the only consolation the church has been the fact that his faith and standing with God was not a secret. He said the church was planning to join the family in giving him a befitting burial.”The church has already started dialoguing with the members of his family. The church will be financially involved, but to an extent,” he said.
He added: “The issue of death is something that a mortal man cannot interpret; it is only the immortal that has the full interpretation because we may be giving it an interpretation along with our own feelings, but God who is the owner of life is the one who can best interpret when that life is taken. Even if you ask God why, He won’t give you an answer immediately.
“When it comes to matters of death, especially when it’s surrounded by these kind of circumstances, the Christian has to be speechless because your statement can either offend or not offend God. Nobody plans for death and when it calls, it becomes very mysterious to humanity. Whether it is a covenant from anywhere, we don’t know and we cannot attribute it to anything”, Orode said in respect of the comment likely to follow the death of his co-labourer.
