Mayowa loses cancer battle in South Africa

Twenty-nine-year-old Mayowa Ahmed yesterday died in a South African hospital about 10 days after her admission.

The late Mayowa left Nigeria on August 11 to treat Stage IV Ovarian cancer after her family was cleared of fundraising scam allegations by the police.

When contacted, her elder sister, Mrs Tope Adeniran, told our reporter on phone that Mayowa died early yesterday.

She expressed sadness that her sister died despite all the efforts to save her through the Whatsapp Social messaging platform.

Mrs Adeniran, in tears, said: “I could not talk or text that was why I did not inform you. This is not fair; after everything.”

She said the family had hopes that the late Mayowa would survive as she was said to be responding to treatment.

“I really don’t know what went wrong.  But she was a bit better yesterday (Saturday),” she said.

A family friend, Saheed Badmus, said Mayowa’s death came as a shock because initial report was that she was responding to treatment.

“Tope called me this (yesterday) morning; she was crying.  She told me Mayowa was dead.  Yesterday (Saturday), we heard she was responding to treatment only for her to die today (Sunday).  She was in South Africa with her eldest brother,” he said.

The late Mayowa’s brother tweeted news of her death on the social media yesterday.  Using his Twitter handle, @Asiwaju_Foye, he posted two tweets: “After a tough battle with Ovarian Cancer, Mayowa Ahmed of #SaveMayowa campaign has passed on; and “She tried, we tried but God’s will prevailed #RipMayowa”.

Last week, the late Mayowa’s family released a statement, thanking Nigerians for raising funds (about N32 million – apart from the $100,000 raised online via gofundme) for her treatment abroad.

This followed the police exoneration of the family of allegations of raising the funds without plans to treat her abroad.  The allegations were raised by Nollywood actress Toyin Aimakhu, Aramide Kasamu of Life Stake Foundation and a  blogger, Linda Ikeji.  The police cleared all parties of wrongdoing and attributed the allegations to miscommunication.

The family had considered hospitals in the U.S., India and United Arab Emirates but settled for South Africa when other plans failed.

The family sought treatment abroad after finding it difficult to get accurate diagnosis about the late Mayowa’s ailment. The situation was compounded by her sickle cell anaemia, which made the hospitals to attribute her symptoms to Sickle cell crisis most of last year.

She was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in June before the family started making moves to take her abroad.

Church deacon, two others murdered over land dispute in Lagos  

Pandemonium struck at the Ikorodu area of Lagos State Tuesday as three persons were brutally murdered by men suspected to be hired assassins.

The assassination was reportedly as a result of a land brawl which had lingered for quite some time.

The said piece of land islocated at Isiwo Road, Igbodu area of Ikorodu.

The deceased, a Deacon identified only as Hassan, his driver and Personal Assistant, PA, met their untimely death at about 6pm.

A friend to the late deacon’s family, who didn’t want her name mentioned in print, disclosed this on her Facebook page.

According to her, “It’s a very painful exit in the family of my friend, Olaitan Temitope, as assassins eliminated one of his brother, Deacon Hassan, his P.A and his driver yesterday at Isiwo Road, Igbodu, based on land dispute.

“May God in his mercy protect and guide us from evil doers.

R.I.P,” she added.

It was learnt that the deceased’s family had issues with some people over the piece of land and after several warnings and threat messages, he was killed while he had gone to inspect the land alongside his driver and assistant.

As at press time, the police say it is yet to receive a complaint on this particular case.

TEXT : 2 Samuel 9:1-13
MEMORY VERSE : And David said unto him (Mephibosheth),fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father`s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. 2 Samuel 9:7.

The struggle you`re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.When the book of remembrance was closed against Mephibosheth his life was not better than a dead dog. "And he bowed himself, and said, what is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am " 2 Samuel 9:8.

When the book of remembrance is closed, much labour is compensated with with little gain.Of course, the good path of such fellow is forgotten, his or her error is always noticed.The worse part of it is every step he takes is condemned.When others are rewarded he received letter of query and probably suspension.Why ? His book of remembrance are permanently closed like a "dead dog - Mephibosheth ".Toady, I degree in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus, your book of remembrance will be opened in Jesus` name.

As soon as book of remembrance was opened in favour of Mephibosheth, "a dead dog" became the world celebrity.
His name changed from Lamed Mephibosheth to "Prince"
Don`t you know that the son of a President is also a President,Mephibosheth ruled like King in the palace, visitors and community people refers to him as his excellence.Imagine, a lame of yesterday now "his excellence".What a great God !

The position of Mephibosheth changed, from rural dweller to VIP quarters." So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he did eat continually at the king`s table;...." 2 Samuel 9:13.

Security was attached to Mephibosheth. Meaning that he never walked alone ":......And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth." 2 Samuel 9:12.

You don`t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Mephibosheth never gave up ! Because when the world says give up ! Hope whispers and says "Mephibosheth try it one more time".Today, your own book of remembrance will be opened for your favour in Jesus` name.

Cry to God who alone can make impossible to be possible ( Luke1:37) . By His single power, He construted bridge on the sea.He wiped away the tears of Hannanh.He remembered Mephibosheth and change his life " through the power of the book of remebrance ". Now is your time if only you can reconcile with the God who turns " a dead dog" to a " Prince" in the palace and change his possition from shrub dweller to Jerusalem VIP occupant,by accept Jesus as your Lord and your saviour, your book will be opened.

PRAYER POINT :Through the opening of the book of remembrance,Mephibosheth was remembered.Oh lord my God let my book of remembrance be widely opened for my favour today in Jesus` name.Amen.

TEXT :2 Samuel 9:1-13

Crying is not a sign of weakness, but it is a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.And the Lord said unto everyone who has been waiting for his/her book of remembrance to be opened.It does not matter years you have been waiting, days of your fasting,hours of your prayer and the Lord said now that your book of remembrance are opened . You will say to all your critics and enemies who reduced you to a "dead dog", who once said you can never celebrate " The Lord has done great things for us (me), whereof we are glad" Psalm 126:3.

You have sew in tears in the last six month,but God said unto you " They that sow in tears shall reap in Joy" Psalm 126:5. Beloved, wipe away you tear this is your month of remembrance. The Lord will decorate you with Joy unspeakable, not that alone all your critics and foes will see God in your life. And you will say " The Lord hath done great things for (me) us; whereof (I) we are glad" Psalm 126:3.

Now that your book of remembrance is opened , you shall begin to reap where you have not sew and the Lord said unto Ziba from today " Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him (Mephibosheth) thy master`s son shall eat bread always at my table.Now Ziba had fifteen (15) sons and twenty (20) servants " 2 Samuel 9:10.

I prophecy to your life this day first of July 2016, In the mighty name of Jesus ;Your book of remembrance is opened.The Lord shall reward your forgotten efforts.You shall be decorated. The Lord shall give you a new name in the name of JESUS !

Now, is the time of salvation next second might be too late, repeat after me. Oh Lord my God , I surrender my life to you, forgive me all my sins and write my name in the book of life. Give me grace to serve you for the rest of my life.

PRAYER POINT : In the mighty name of Jesus, my book of remembrance that is opened will never be closed in Jesus` name.Amen.

ENVY DREADFUL THAN ACID.

TOPIC : Envy Dreadful Than Acid
TEXT : Galatians 5: 19 - 21
MEMORY VERSE : A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Of recent I was reading about great Martin Luther KG(Jr), and I fell in love with one of his quote " The ultimate measure of man (woman) is not where he stands in moments of comfort and conveniences,but where he stands at a time of challenge and controversy" emphasis mine.
Not only that envy is awful, it is also dire.Not only that God strictly warned His children to stay clear from envy it is a short way to destruction.An envious wife will never be satisfied.She will never admired God`s grace over her life.Her husband is mostly compared with others.

God places envy ahead of wrath,and anger even though the duo are outrageous.In Proverb 27:4, the scripture says " Wrath is cruel,and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

It better to leave with witch than to accommodate an envious woman or man.Why? Horse and donkey can be tamed but LION and SNAKE can not be controlled.An envious woman or man is more dire than the latter.They are pretendant. An envious person is cruel and awful.

ANTIDOLE TO ENVY
Don`t envy the blessings others appear to have because you don`t know their strife and the grass isn`t always greener on the other side.
Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.
The Envious man or woman grows lean at the success of his neighbor.
The most unhappy people are the ones who always undervalue what they have, and overvalue what others have.

In Proverbs 23:17 the Bible says " Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Finally, always be happy and satisfy with what you have and trust God in prayer to long list of request in your scale of preference with time all will be well.God bless you.Amen

STAGE OF PREGNANCY .

TOPIC : Pregnant Women.
TEXT : Exodus 1:1 - 21.
MEMORY VERSE : But the midwives feared God, and did not as the King of Egypt commanded them,but saved the men children alive.

Pregnancy is typically broken into three periods, or trimesters, each of about three months. Each trimester is defined as 14 weeks, for a total duration of 42 weeks, although the average duration of pregnancy is 40 weeks.

THE THREE TRIMESTERS

Pregnancy has three trimesters, each of which is marked by specific fetal developments. A pregnancy is considered full-term at 40 weeks; infants delivered before the end of week 37 are considered premature. Premature infants may have problems with their growth and development, as well as difficulties in breathing and digesting.

First Trimester (0 to 13 Weeks)

The first trimester is the most crucial to your baby's development. During this period, your baby's body structure and organ systems develop. Most miscarriages and birth defects occur during this period.During this stage the Lord in His faithfulness keeps His eye on the baby considering its flimsiness as it is written in Isaiah 54:17 " No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper....."

Body also undergoes major changes during the first trimester. These changes often cause a variety of symptoms, including nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness and frequent urination. Although these are common pregnancy symptoms, every woman has a different experience. For example, while some may experience an increased energy level during this period, others may feel very tired and emotional.AT this stage strenght is made available by God.According to Exodus 1:20 " And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women;for they are lively,and are delievered ere the midwives come in unto them"

Second Trimester (14 to 26 Weeks)
The second trimester of pregnancy is often called the "golden period" because many of the unpleasant effects of early pregnancy disappear. During the second trimester, you're likely to experience decreased nausea, better sleep patterns and an increased energy level. However, women may experience a whole new set of symptoms, such as back pain, abdominal pain, leg cramps, constipation and heartburn.The joy of new baby coming into the family wipe away the pain and agony. Between 16 weeks and 20 weeks,baby's first fluttering movements is felt.

Third Trimester (27 to 40 Weeks)
The final stretch of pregnancy and are probably very excited and anxious for the birth of your baby. Some of the physical symptoms experience during this period include shortness of breath, hemorrhoids, urinary incontinence, varicose veins and sleeping problems. Many of these symptoms arise from the increase in the size of your uterus, which expands from approximately 2 ounces before pregnancy to 2.5 pounds at the time of birth. Because the Lord`s faithfulness abound He said concerning the women in 1Timothy 2:15 "Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing..."

I degree to all pregnant women in the mighty name of Jesus, your delivery shall be safe,quick and peaceful.
